The WM is back from summer break and weekly mnemonics will be coming your way. As summer becomes fall and the hours and intensity of sunshine decrease, here’s a reminder of the ABCDE mnemonic for melanoma.
A = Asymmetry
B = Borders are irregular/uneven
C = Colours are variegated within one lesion
D = Diameter is greater than 0.5 cm
E = Evolving; that is, changing in shape or size, or new symptoms such as bleeding, pain or itching
